U.S. State Quarter Proof Sets

Few other series of coins have elicited the excitement that the Statehood quarter series generated upon its initial release in 1999. For ten years running, five different states each year are being released in accordance to their entry into the Union, starting with Delaware and ending with Hawaii in 2008. The collector base for this issue is huge. Business strikes are coined at the Philadelphia and Denver Mints, while Proofs in both clad and silver are prepared at the San Francisco Mint. Certified examples in the ultimate grades are highly sought after and command a significant premium over lesser grade specimens.
