$10 1855-S VF 25 PCGS
Soft golden rose tone. Evenly worn, with good detail evident on the engraved features. Surfaces are textured with ticks and scuffs. None are particularly hard or detracting, however. Mintage of gold eagles was a mere 9,000 pieces in 1855, the San Francisco Mint's second year of operation. Just 48 total pieces have been certified by PCGS, with none grading higher than AU55. A very important and historic numismatic relic of early California during the gold rush era.
