Soft golden rose natural luster. Surfaces are textured with ticks and scuffs, and there are a few heavier marks on both sides. It is evenly worn. This date has an extremely low mintage of just 1,248 pieces, struck during the depths of the Civil War. It is a significant rarity in all grades. A mere 16 total examples have been graded by NGC. Seven are certified at this level, the rest grade higher. An important offering for the many enthusiasts of rare date gold coinage.
