25C 1815 MS 65 NGC B-1 This is a low mintage coin

Gem. Well struck from clashed dies. Pleasing surfaces. Attractively toned. A few fine contact marks on the cheek of the bust. The first Quarter Dollar minted by the United States Mint since 1807, this 1815 design introduced the Large Size Capped Bust series. There were 89,235 coins minted for this date. No more coins of this denomination were struck until 1818, another indication of the unpopularity of the Quarter Dollar among bullion depositors that were active in the United States during the 1790's and early decades of the 19th century. NGC has certified six coins at this level with a mere five finer.
